Cold Spring Blue OOTD | Hanayat

Yes, spring has arrived but definitely not the warm weather. Even though we are being teased in the UK by peaks of sunshine don't be fooled because it is still freezing outside. On one of the sunniest days this week I ventured to the lovely town of Brighton, which is so nice to escape the London city vibes for a mini holiday. I decided to channel a blue outfit inspired by the seaside town as well as decided to layer up just in case the weather turned on me.

For the outfit, I incorporated different shades of blue and greys as well as interesting textures to make the look compliment each other, when it comes to layering up I find that to be the best idea so the outfit looks effortless and stylish at the same time.

To add a change of colour, I wore this pleated grey oversized scarf from H&M alongside this knitted bubble textured sky blue coat from NewLook. The coat was not too warm as it had a silky lining so I layered up underneath with a thin navy jacket for when and if the weather gets warmer.

For my top I wore a chiffon peplum with a lace top from Junarose to add to the textures, as well as the teal colour to keep the outfit looking to dull. I kept it simple with the accessories with navy jeans and white flats from H&M, my black bag from Old Spitafield's Market, gold stud earrings to compliment my rose gold watch from NewLook.

Different textures at shades create dimensions to the outfit even if you are just using one colour, like a painting.

So, what are your tips to keeping warm and also adding colour to your wardrobe this spring?

Happy Easter everyone!

  1. The weather has been deceptively sunny here in the UK lately, I agree! Though having said that, I've been genuinely surprised by how warm it is every now and again :) I like the pale blue coat shown first in this post, what a lovely colour on you!
